As always, transparency is the key to success. We must be transparent with students, partners, and the Finnish Authorities. It is also important to make sure that our students understand where they are applying to and that non-EU students are required to pay a tuition fee in Finland. At TAKK the price of tuition fee varies between 9000 euros to 12 000 euros. The non-EU programs are always done in collaboration with a local partner. The tuition fee includes the partner´s commission. The tuition fee also covers the cost of materials used for teaching. Other factors that affect the price are the duration of the education, and the size of the teaching group.
TAKK students are adults and have chosen Finland as a destination through their own choice. Some of the issues that we face are the culture shock that might come with the very practical way of learning instead of sitting in classrooms. We have also decided that our non-EU students will complete their studies in Finnish language making integration possible. All our programs include Finnish language studies and integration modules. This means that language studies continue throughout the programs instead of any short online courses.
Studying in a foreign country can be challenging. For this reason, we test applicants' motivation, suitability for the chosen field and language skills before accepting them for the education export programs. Employment opportunities after graduation are possible for hard working and motivated students because education export programs are targeted to fields that suffer labour shortages in Finland. These fields include social and healthcare sector, restaurant and catering services and home help and cleaning services.
