Free meals
Who is entitled to a free meal?
In full-time basic qualification education and preparatory education, students are entitled to a free meal on days when the student's personal competence development plan (HOKS) requires the student to be present at a training location designated by the education provider.
Interpretation: attendance is required during contact study days (educational institution) and during on-the-job learning (workplace).
Note! The free meal does not apply to students undergoing labour market, apprenticeship, or staff training, or to students from outside the EU, the so called on-demand students.
Where and what can I dine?
Students can dine in Juvenes' restaurants Nasta and Ratamo. Restaurants have defined what is included in a free meal. This is marked separately on the line with the text SISÄLTYY MAKSUTTOMAAN RUOKAILUUN (=INCLUDED IN FREE DINING).
Meals during on-the-job learning
TAKK pays students (those who meet the above criteria) a so-called meal allowance of EUR 3.50 per study day retrospectively upon application by the student. The meal allowance is paid monthly, always at the beginning of the following month.
The student submits a meal allowance application using the form found in StudentaPlus and Moodle. The student returns the form to his/her responsible instructor. An application for compensation is made retrospectively once a month for an on-the-job period. You can apply for meal allowances accrued for a maximum of the previous two months at a time.
